These terms are an agreement between you and Fardin Sadman, Dallas, Texas ("we"), who runs NoteStar. By using NoteStar you agree to them and to our privacy policy.
1. Who can use NoteStar
You must be at least 18 years old. You're responsible for your account and for keeping your Google account secure.
2. Learning, not cheating
NoteStar helps you understand and remember material. You're responsible for following your school's or exam body's rules on AI tools, and for not submitting AI output as your own work where that isn't allowed.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of what you add to NoteStar: notes, handwriting, files, links and anything you create from them. You give us a limited permission to store, copy, process and display your content only to run NoteStar for you, including sending it to our AI and storage providers and showing what you share to the study groups you choose. You confirm you have the right to add what you upload (for example, your own notes or material you're allowed to use for study). We don't claim ownership of your content and don't use it to advertise.
4. AI features
Study books, summaries, flashcards and tutor answers are generated by AI from your material and can be incomplete or wrong. They aren't professional advice, including medical, legal or financial advice. Check anything important against reliable sources. Images in books come from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons under free licences, with credit to their authors. You can report AI content in the app; we review reports.
5. Plans and limits
NoteStar's plans limit how many AI actions you can use (for example, books a month and tutor questions a day). Limits, plans and prices can change; we'll show current limits in the app. Paid plans are bought through the app store, which shows the price and renewal terms before you buy and handles billing, cancellation and refunds.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use NoteStar to break the law; to share content you don't have the right to share; to harass, threaten or harm others; to try to break, overload or get around NoteStar's limits or security; or to generate content that's sexual, violent or hateful. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
7. Study groups
What you share to a group can be seen by its members, and members can save copies to their own libraries. Group admins can remove members and shared items.
8. Ending your use
You can stop using NoteStar and delete your account at any time (Settings → Account → Delete account). We may suspend or end access if you break these terms or if we stop offering NoteStar; if we stop, we'll try to give notice so you can keep a copy of your notes.
9. Disclaimers and liability
NoteStar is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, and our total liability is limited to US $50 or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, whichever is greater. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under laws that can't be waived.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be handled in the courts located in Dallas County, Texas, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. We'll tell you in the app about important changes; continuing to use NoteStar after they take effect means you accept them.
